  China  Cosmetic Animal  Testing  Requirement  Exemption

  The CSAR does not offer any clarification regarding the compulsory animal testing requirements in China. As per the earlier released draft Administration Measures for Filing of Non-Special Use Cosmetics, both domestically produced and imported general cosmetics in China will no longer require mandatory animal testing. Instead, safety assessments will be permitted as alternatives to animal testing, albeit with some limitations.

The updated regulations now incorporate a set of detailed specifications concerning quality control and safety assessment for cosmetics.
